Change Management

Small Square Financial Payment Services Industry

PROJECT PURPOSE
The purpose of this initiative is to transition dozens of Canadian Credit Unions, including their staff and clients, to a new electronic banking transaction processing platform.

AULD & COMPANY’S ROLE
Auld & Company provided the business process re-engineering, project management and change management leadership to ensure each Credit Union conversion was coordinated seamlessly. Auld & Company developed implementation, communication and training plans to support many Credit Unions in their transitional efforts.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT FOCUS
Auld & Company managed and successfully delivered a strategic portfolio of projects to upgrade the banking system for Credit Union financial systems. This included helping each Credit Union map their existing processes and transition to the revised, standardized process of the new processing platform. Auld & Company lead the transition by developing the implementation plans required for a seamless change process and by providing the associated communication and training plans to educate staff and generate awareness about the change. Auld & Company was also responsible for monitoring the effects of the change and measuring the performance thereof.

PROJECT RESULTS
Over the course of one year, our client successfully converted nearly 300 million electronic transactions to the new banking platform. Our client was able to capture 70% of all Canadian Credit Union electronic transaction processing by offering a more cost effective and feature rich solution for customers.

Small Square MIS Change Management for a Municipal Government

PROJECT PURPOSE
To work with staff to develop a Change Management plan that will guide the organization through the significant changes associated with an ERP implementation. The change processes will require working with individuals, groups and the organization on a corporate level to identify process gaps and implement redesigned recommendations for change. As the organization is implementing their ERP “out-of-the-box”, there will be no customization of the inputs for the system, further necessitating the organization to alter the way it does business to meet the needs of the ERP.

AULD & COMPANY’S ROLE
Auld & Company will develop a comprehensive Change Management Plan that will include stakeholder analysis, communications planning, issues management, team organizational structure, training plans, and significant BPM work. Auld & Company is expected to provide guidance to a team of City staff who strongly believe in Auld & Company’s philosophy of “For the Staff, By the Staff” as a way to ensure buy-in and creditability is achieved for the project.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT FOCUS
Auld & Company will attend all ERP fit-gap meetings to identify potential areas of difference between current practice and proposed future state. In addition, the client has identified several business decisions that will be implemented in an effort to adopt best practices for the organization, further requiring process mapping and change management. The project team will map all process identified through targeted interviews with client teams and design future states for the organization. Auld & Company will provide heavy emphasis to the development of training and change management plans for each proposed change to smoothly manage the implementation process.

PROJECT RESULTS
This project is currently at half-way mark. BPM and associated Change Management Plan work has begun as many processes have been identified with change related to the ERP or as a result of business best practice.
