Auld & Company’s Approach
Auld & Company’s approach to Business Process Management (BPM) is based on best practices research from the top performing BPM firms across the world. Combined with the basic principles of this research are the experience and expertise Auld & Company has accredited itself through its work in both the public and private sectors. In addition to the systematic components of BPM, Auld & Company emphasizes the necessary compliment of a strong change management approach, methodology and technique – required prior to, during, and subsequent to implementation. When performing the actual BPM work, Auld & Company maintains the philosophy that accurate mapping will result in accurate redesign and therefore places emphasis on incorporating the most efficient tools to facilitate the mapping process and more importantly working with a framework that ensures a high-level of front-line staff engagement to provide the accurate, “as-is” picture. Auld & Company approaches business process mapping and analysis by working with the staff who are involved with the process on a daily basis. The Auld & Company team provides a skilled portfolio management perspective to help ensure that each BPM effort will be implemented effectively. Without implementation, and appropriate management thereof, of the proposed changes Auld & Company believes there truly has been no redesign.

BPM Framework
The BPM process must carefully align to the strategic corporate directive of the organization. Many consulting firms focus on specific business process components such as analysis, redesign or reengineering. Auld & Company has integrated all business process components in order to offer its clients a full-service approach.

Lean Six Sigma
At the heart of our Process Excellence Program is an integrated process improvement methodology known as Lean Six Sigma (LSS).  This powerful data driven approach to problem solving allows us to dramatically improve our client’s bottom line performance and bring greater value to their customers.  We take a customized approach to the application of LSS in our client’s business operations.  Depending on the specific business need, individual components of Lean and/or Six Sigma are utilized to best address the needs and expectations of our clients.

Lean is a philosophy that seeks to minimize unnecessary time, materials and effort in any repetitive process.  Through the application of Lean, Auld & Company helps clients drive out waste, resulting in higher quality, increased productivity and improved customer service.  The premise of Lean is that the lowest cost solution produces the best quality and best delivery by following these five Lean principles:

Correctly specify value from the standpoint of the customer /Identify the value stream and eliminate the waste / Make the remaining steps flow / Let the customer pull just the value needed / Pursue perfection

Six Sigma is a data driven, statistical process improvement methodology that seeks to reduce variation in business processes. “Sigma” is a measure of statistical variation which equates to 3.4 errors per million of opportunities.  This means that best in class organizations can deliver defect free products/services 99.9997 percent of the time.  Six Sigma seeks complete customer satisfaction by ingraining a culture of excellence and accountability within an organization.

At Auld & Company, Lean Six Sigma is a business philosophy that focuses on improving the processes that create value for our clients.  It integrates the process variability reduction tools of Six Sigma with the time and waste reduction tools of Lean.  We deploy LSS within an integrated and disciplined project management approach.  The benefits of Lean and Six Sigma are proven to enhance value and improve financial performance in any organization.

Our LSS methodology follows the methodical DMAIC process of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control.   Tollgate reviews are conducted at the completion of each DMAIC phase in order to ensure that our Change Agents have accurately applied the LSS toolset to the specific business problem.  At each review they present the findings to our Process Excellence Black Belt and Project Sponsor, as well as to the clients Process Owner.  Our change agents must demonstrate (with data) that they have accurately and effectively satisfied each question associated with the each phase before proceeding to the next phase of the project.

Whether it’s addressing a specific business need, or assisting in full deployment of a Process Excellence Program of their own, Auld & Company has the capabilities and expertise to help create the value our clients need to be competitive in their marketplace.  Our core competencies in Operational Excellence include:

Solving a specific business problem with Lean Six Sigma / Training in Lean Six Sigma / Lean Six Sigma Deployment, from the initial vision to final execution

So whether you are struggling with revenue generation, excessive operating costs, long lead times, or poor quality, Auld and Company can help.
